Polo Ralph Lauren has announced that it will further extend its e-commerce reach with the launch of Ralphlauren.com in the UK.
The site will offer consumers a UK destination to buy the clothes brand online. Previously, it was not possible to buy Ralph Lauren goods this way unless the customer had a US address. All of Ralph Lauren’s lines will be available to purchase, including menswear, womenswear, childrenswear and the home collection.

Karl Lagerfeld cancels Lagerfeld Paris show
Vogue UK reports that Karl Lagerfeld will not show a Lagerfeld collection at Paris Fashion Week in October.
The designer canceled his show and instead of showing on October 3, Lagerfeld will create a "masstige" ready-to-wear collection, aimed at a much wider audience that will be sold online. (Masstige products fall somewhere between mass and prestige products, naturally — so they're much more affordable than designer clothes but still of good quality).

Bono’s clothing company loses $9 million
The clothing company of U2 frontman Bono and his wife Ali Hewson was rancked up $9 million in loses last year.
The singer established the clothing company Edun in 2005 to stimulate business in Africa but accounts filed for the firm show it plunged into the red last year.
The debts were 90 per cent bigger in the last twelve months than they were in 2008, according to official documents obtained by British newspaper The Sun.
New York renamed world’s top fashion capital
New York has reclaimed the title of the world's top fashion capital from Milan but the annual poll suggested the top five fashion cities are seeing competition from Asia and Australia.
New York had reigned as top fashion city for 5 years until Milan took the lead last year in the list compiled by the Global Language Monitor, a U.S. based non-profit group that tracks the frequency of words and phrases in the media, on the Internet and throughout the blogosphere.

On the occasion of the forthcoming International Fashion Congress – Rousse 2010, which is organized by RICHMART INNOVATION, in BTA Press Club was held a press conference in which participated: Mr. Martin Jordanov, organizer of RICHMART INNOVATION; Mrs. Mariana Manolova, chief executive of BAATPE (Bulgarian association of Apparel and Textile Producers and Exporters); Mrs. Daniela Simeonova, a representative of BULIP (Branch Union of the Light Industry Producers) - Rousse, and professor Lyubomir Stoikov, chairman of the Bulgarian Academy for Fashion.

The Balkans are the new profitable strategy of the fashion industry in Europe
2002-2006 was a period of intensive development of the sewing industry in Bulgaria in relation to investments in modern technological equipment. The number of the people employed in the industry are correspondingly - Bulgaria /170 000/ and Romania /280 000/. In 2007 Bulgaria and Romania entered the European Union and the customs tariffs were removed. In 2010 the present business situation requires short production series, high quality, competitive prices, and fast delivery terms.
RICHMART INNOVATION – the aim of the congress is to bring together Western Europe and the confection and fashion industry of the Balkans. It is also an opportunity for designers – the people without whom fashion creation would be impossible.
