Green Fashion Tour in Porto, Portugal

The Green Fashion Tour in Porto is a specific activity of the FASCINATE project happening in the fringes of the Modtissimo exhibition in Porto, Portugal, from October 6th to 8th 2021. It brought together a delegation of 5 clusters and 15 SMEs from Bulgaria, Denmark, Portugal and Spain to visit the Modtissimo fair, network with the rest of clusters and SMEs, look for business and technological cooperation, explore international business opportunities and brainstorm joint strategies towards international markets.

FASCINATE is a European project, co-funded by the EU COSME Programme, aiming at the internationalization of EU textile and fashion Small & Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) that are working towards the development of circularity and sustainability in these industries. The partnership also seeks cross-sectoral collaboration with the technology and footwear sectors. The project is managed by a partnership of 5 European clusters - the Catalonian fashion cluster Modacc, the leader of the project; the Bulgarian Fashion Association; Denmark’s Lifestyle & Design Cluster; the Portuguese Textile Cluster; and the Clúster Digital de Catalunya. 

During the first day were organized visits of manufacturing plats in Porto region - Riopele, Pedrosa & Rodrigues and Hata, and the Portuguese Textile Cluster CITEVE, one of the project partners.

On October 7th started the Modtissimo fair and companies had free time to visit it and find new suppliers and partners.

On October 8th all companies and clusters participated in the Workshop: Towards the FASCINATE Joint Internationalization Strategy. The programme included introduction to the FASCINATE project and presentation of the market study for the demand for sustainable fashion on the markets of Canada, USA and Japan. A discussion was made about available tools to support the internationalization of SMEs.
